Clinical Effects of Scaling and Root Planing in Treatment of Patients with Amlodipine Induced Gingival Overgrowth

Introduction: A multifactorial condition characterised by an increase in size is called gingival enlargement. Most common form drug induced Different treatment options to manage overgrowth are categorised as non-surgical approach and surgical approach. Non-surgical mechanical periodontal gold standard of therapy first recommended control infections. Objective: To determine clinical effect scaling root planing (SRP) patient with amlodipine overgrowth. Methods: pretest post-test study was conducted from January 2021 December among 19 subjects recruited conveniencesampling who exhibited grade 1-2 (Miller’s Damm index). The probing depth (PD) ≤7mm attachment level (CAL) ≤4 mm were evaluated on upper lower anterior teeth labial aspect, before after SRP at one month, three months, six months. Plaque index (PI), Gingival (GI) also Results: Statistically significant reduction found terms GOS, PD, gain CAL, PI, GI However, results not statistically intragroup comparison post-treatment months GI, PI. Conclusions: Scaling planing, has showed improvement overgrowth, depth, level, plaque compared pretreatment.
